The hotel building was originally a Community building used for the poste office, schooling and the Mayor's office, it first became the Chalet-Hotel de La Galise ( Named after the Point de La Galise in the Fornet Valley) in 1934 under the direction of Pierre Rond.

14 years later Pierre's niece and her husband Mr and Mrs Favre took over and spent 32 years running La Galise, before it passed to their Daughter Danielle, who took over the reins for 23 years. Since 2003 Danielles children, Thibaut and Alexandra have enjoyed managing the family heritage.

This Family business spanning four generations has enjoyed the view of the Face de Bellevarde for more than 70 years, making it one of the longest standing businesses in Val d'Isere.

Numerous renovations and redecorations have enabled La Galise to remain a charming and authentic mountain hotel.

The "front de neige" is only 20 meters away, giving easy access to the slopes and lift systems.

Situated right in the heart of the "old town" La Galise is within short distance of all the important business, including post office, supermarkets, sports & boutique shopping, tobacconist, library, cinemas and tourism office.
